Toons To Think is more than an app. It’s a movement to make research accessible, engaging, and memorable for the next generation. Born from a partnership between academia and creative expertise, we turn complex papers into compelling webtoons.

From a Research Grant
to a Public Platform
Toons To Think was initially launched thanks to funding from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the University of Fribourg, specifically through the UNIFR Centenary Fund.

What started as the “Agora Science Webtoons” project, a pilot initiative to test the impact of comics on civic education, quickly proved its value. Students engaged with complex topics like federalism and mathematics in ways traditional texts never achieved. Today, Toons To Think evolves from a research project into a sustainable digital diffusion platform, ensuring these scientific stories reach schools and the public across Switzerland and beyond.

The Creative Engine: The Ink Link
Toons To Think serves as the dedicated digital diffusion platform for The Ink Link, an award-winning association and enterprise specializing in transforming complex information into accessible comics.
Expertise: With over 150 projects and a 200-page methodological guide (Tracer ensemble), The Ink Link brings unparalleled know-how in scientific mediation.
Role: They manage the artistic production, the network of illustrators, and the pedagogical structuring of every episode.

The Academic & Artistic Anchor: Editorial Committee
Toons To Think is governed by a unique Editorial Committee composed of both renowned scientists from UNIFR and other institutions, and professional artists.
Dual Validation: Every content submitted is rigorously validated by experts recognized in your specific discipline, ensuring both scientific accuracy and artistic excellence.
